This was painted from a photograph I took after posing the two models, my best friend, Lisa and her daughter, Jessie in my then gallery owners garden in Santa Rosa. WE took many photos that day and if you look through some of the paintings from my lifetime of painting you might see a few others of these two. They were my first models and my most consitstent models. The sun was at the right position in the sky, the models were perfect with their bodies gently suggesting their loving and nurturing relationship.
